Nestled in the hotel gardens, is the 13 century Dunloe Castle. Several accounts of a castle survive from the 13th century, the first of which notes the rebuilding of a castle in 1215 by the son of Thomas Fitzgerald, from the prominent Anglo-Norman family that dominated the area at that time.
Guests of The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens are welcome to enter the castle and climb to the top to enjoy the viewing point - contact reception for access.
